In this practice-oriented workshop, the participants will learn how to find, approach, and successfully collaborate with Anglo-American academic journal publishers. The aim is to enable participants to confidently assess their own journal publication project, identify suitable destination publishers and journals, and learn how to best develop and pitch their project at high-quality English language journals.
The course is aimed at mid-career to senior academics who want to place their articles in the Anglo-American market. It consists of a half-day (4.5h net) participatory presentation covering the advanced basics of journal publishing, from the best way to search for suitable outlets to the drafting and delivering of a journal article and the peer review process. The final section of this first part will also address marketing and PR efforts the participants can actively use.
On a separate day, the participants will then be given the opportunity to partake in 30min to 45min individual coaching sessions to discuss their current journal projects in detail. This will help in determining what the next steps in their publication efforts should be.
